TIRE REBATES EXPLAINED
In an American retail space filled with no shortage of gimmicky sales and supposed discounts, tire rebates are a real opportunity to save money. $40, $80, even $100 back on a set of tires is common.
Each major tire manufacturer typically releases a rebate offer a few times per year, but if you're not brand loyal, tire rebates are available almost all of the time. (See current tire rebates.)
The tire rebates process is very straightforward --
After you've identified a preferred tire rebate offer and are proceeding with a purchase from an authorized seller (not "Buford's Used Tires"), print and/or save the rebate form.

Note that not necessarily all tires from a manufacturer are eligible for a given rebate offer. Verify that the tire model you're purchasing is eligible, and understand the applicable rebate value.
Many tire rebates can be submitted either online or by mail -- your choice.
Some manufacturers have set up a website dedicated to the tire rebates process. Goodyear, for example.
Be sure to submit for the tire rebate in a timely fashion. Oftentimes there is a submission cutoff date that is within a few weeks of the rebate offer expiration.
Don't forget to submit your (legible) tire purchase invoice with the rebate form.
That's about it. Allow anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months for the rebate to arrive; usually in the form of a pre-paid credit card, or sometimes a check.
Then use the rebate cash to buy more tires, like we do...
